The Nodes
The machines are listed below and range from commodity-based Athlon 3000+ XP to Dual Opteron server-class systems.
The configuration is as generic as possible to maintain compatibility with the broadest range of hardware and software. Almost all machines run
Red Hat Enterprise Linux AS.
The Network
Genome interconnectivity is based on 1Gb Ethernet. To handle the networking, we use
HP5308xl and
HP3400cl-48G switches for a total of 72 100Mb ports and 150 1Gb ports
